Join acclaimed New Zealand author Philip Temple at Milford Galleries in Dunedin for the launch of his latest book, An Absence of Friends. One of Aotearoa’s most distinguished literary figures, Philip Temple has enjoyed an extraordinary writing career spanning more than five decades. His extensive body of work includes novels, biographies, memoirs, children's literature and acclaimed accounts of exploration and mountaineering. A recipient of the Prime Minister’s Award for Literary Achievement and an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit (ONZM), Philip has made a significant contribution to New Zealand literature. His celebrated works include A Sort of Conscience: The Wakefields, Beak of the Moon and Chance Is a Fine Thing. This special gathering at Milford Galleries offers an opportunity to celebrate the publication of his new book in the company of fellow readers, writers and arts enthusiasts.
