Author talk: Josh Silver - Fruit Fly

Josh Silver’s Fruit Fly has quickly attracted international attention, climbing bestseller lists and being optioned for television. The novel follows Mallory, a writer whose career took off seven years ago but has since stalled under the weight of writer’s block. Determined to make a comeback, Mallory turns to Reddit for advice on crafting a bestseller: make it gay, make it sad, make it dark. When she meets Leo, a young queer man battling addiction, she begins turning his life into the story she desperately needs — without his knowledge. But as Mallory becomes increasingly invested in her novel, how far will she go to create the perfect book? Join Josh Silver for an engaging conversation about Fruit Fly, exploring ambition, identity, storytelling and the ethics of telling someone else’s story. He’ll be joined by curator and writer Tendai Mutambu.
