- About this event
Join fellow book lovers at Time Out Bookstore on Wednesday 18 November 2026, from 6pm to 7.30pm, for a special book club discussion exploring On the Calculation of Volume, the internationally acclaimed literary series by Danish author Solvej Balle. This thought-provoking series follows Tara Selter, a woman mysteriously trapped in the same day, 18 November, which repeats endlessly while the rest of the world remains unaware. Through Tara's extraordinary experience, Balle explores the nature of time, memory, identity and the subtle ways our lives are shaped by the passing of days. Expect a lively, spoiler-filled and potentially circular conversation about time, the shifting nature of experience and the different paths we take throughout our lives. With its unconventional storytelling and philosophical themes, the series offers plenty to discuss, debate and unravel. Thanks to Allen & Unwin, two lucky attendees will each have the chance to win a complete set of the series. Whether you've been captivated by the books or are eager to exchange interpretations with fellow readers, this promises to be an engaging evening of literary conversation. Event details Date: Wednesday 18 November 2026 Time: 6pm–7.30pm Venue: Time Out Bookstore, 432 Mt Eden Road, Mt Eden, Auckland Giveaway: Two complete sets of On the Calculation of Volume, courtesy of Allen & Unwin.
