Book Launch: Song of the Birds by Robert Vennell

Join Auckland Museum Project Curator and best-selling author Robert Vennell to celebrate the launch of his latest book, Song of the Birds. For millions of years, birdsong filled the landscapes of Aotearoa with no human ears to hear it. Then people arrived, transforming the lives of New Zealand’s birds - but, as Robert explores in his new book, perhaps the birds changed us too. Hear Robert discuss Song of the Birds, his fascinating exploration of the relationship between people and birds in Aotearoa. He’ll be joined by Catherine Hammond, Director of Collections and Research at Auckland Museum, along with taonga from the Museum’s collection that bring the stories in the book to life. Copies of Song of the Birds will be available to purchase, with Robert on hand to sign your copy.
