About this event
Got a collection of stamps, inks, washi tape and other stationery supplies but aren't quite sure how to bring them all together? Or perhaps you’ve just come home from the New Zealand Stationery Festival with a bag full of new treasures and need some inspiration? This two-hour, hands-on workshop is an opportunity to experiment, play and discover new ways to use your creative stationery. Whether you’re completely new to creative journalling or already have a well-loved journal practice, the session can be adapted to suit different experience levels. Mira will bring a selection of stamps from her personal collection for participants to explore, demonstrating techniques from the basics through to layering, masking and creating different shapes and effects. The workshop will also introduce simple page layouts that can help turn a pile of favourite supplies into a cohesive journal spread. Participants will have access to a curated selection of shared stamps, inks, washi tape and PET tape, along with generous sheets of MD paper for testing combinations and experimenting before committing anything to a journal. Rather than following a single “perfect” layout, the focus is on building a collection of ideas, techniques and page structures that can be adapted and reused in each participant’s own style. It’s a chance to try something new, pick up plenty of practical tips and spend two hours getting creative with fellow stationery enthusiasts. What participants will take home:
- Two sheets of custom-designed stickers
- A collection of the layouts and techniques created during the workshop
- A handy reference handout covering key techniques and ideas
Please bring: a pen and scissors. Participants are also welcome to bring their own notebook if they would like to work directly in it, although this is optional. New Zealand Stationery Festival This workshop is presented as part of the New Zealand Stationery Festival. A Festival ticket is not required to attend the workshop, although it is highly recommended. Attendees without a Festival ticket will not receive a tote bag and will only be able to access Cobblestones 15 minutes before their class begins. If a Festival time-entry ticket before the workshop isn't available, there’s no need to worry. Anyone holding both a class ticket and a Festival ticket will be admitted according to whichever entry time is earliest. About your teacher Mira Bradshaw has spent more than a decade exploring creative planning, stamping and journalling. A lifelong fan of paper and pens, she has experimented with decorative planning, traveller’s notebooks and bullet journalling before developing a creative daily journalling practice centred around memory-keeping, reflection and noticing the everyday. Her practice continues to evolve across daily, media and commonplace journalling, with photo journalling the latest area she is exploring. She takes a practical, low-pressure approach to creative journalling: learn the tools, discover what works personally, and allow the practice to evolve over time. Outside her day job leading data and technology for an FMCG company, Mira is an enthusiastic collector and user of stamps, fountain pens, inks, washi tape and all manner of paper supplies — whether they were originally intended for journalling or not. Venue The workshop takes place inside Cobblestones Museum. The paths to the classroom are stone-chip, while the workshop space itself is on the ground level. Tickets $99.90 per person Tickets are available through Eventfinda from Thursday, 24 September 2026. Refund policy Due to the bespoke nature of the workshops and limited capacity, tickets are non-refundable. However, tickets can be transferred to someone else if a participant is unable to attend. For sold-out workshops, participants can contact the organisers to ask whether a waitlist is available. If there is a waitlist, the ticket holder can be put directly in touch with someone who may be able to take over their ticket.
