Design Review: Book Launch and Exhibition

Celebrate the launch of a new collection exploring Design Review, New Zealand’s first design magazine, alongside an exhibition showcasing some of its most distinctive covers. Published by Wellington’s Architectural Centre between 1947 and 1953, Design Review brought architecture, art and modern design to a New Zealand audience and became known for its innovative graphic covers. To mark the magazine’s 80th anniversary, Whanganui publisher Small Bore Books has brought together a selection from the Design Review archives. The accompanying exhibition highlights some of the bold cover designs that helped give the publication its distinctive identity.
