- About this event
Join Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Maggie Haberman and acclaimed Australian-born political reporter Jonathan Swan for a fascinating live conversation exploring Donald Trump's second presidency and its implications for America and the wider world. Presented by Thinkable, this special event brings together two of The New York Times' leading White House correspondents, who have spent years reporting on Trump's political rise, presidential campaigns and administrations. Drawing on their extensive reporting and their #1 New York Times bestseller, Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump, published in June 2026, Haberman and Swan will take audiences behind the headlines to examine the personalities, decisions and power struggles shaping the White House. Through an unscripted conversation, they will explore the expansion of presidential power, the inner workings of Trump's administration, the influential figures surrounding the president and the political decisions affecting America's future and its relationships around the globe. Maggie Haberman has covered Donald Trump for more than two decades, beginning with his career in New York before following his rise to the presidency. She was part of the New York Times team awarded the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting and is also the author of the bestselling book Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America. Jonathan Swan is an Australian-born journalist who has reported on Trump since 2015, covering all three of his presidential campaigns. Previously a political reporter for Axios, Swan gained international recognition for his probing 2020 television interview with Trump, for which he won an Emmy Award. Together, Haberman and Swan offer a rare opportunity to hear firsthand insights from two journalists with extensive access to the people and events shaping American politics. An engaging event for anyone interested in politics, journalism, international affairs and the stories behind one of the most closely watched presidencies in modern American history.
