Introduction to Book Making with Liz Constable

Get creative and make your own set of Matryoshka Notebooks — four playful, nesting notebooks inspired by the famous Russian dolls that fit inside one another, each one a little smaller than the last. Artist and author Liz Constable will guide you step by step as you create four completely unique, card-covered notebooks to keep or share. The project was originally developed for Liz’s book, Re, and has since been enjoyed by students around the world. As part of the workshop, you’ll receive a signed copy of Re:Create to take home, giving you plenty of inspiration and techniques to continue creating. All materials are provided, with lots of papers and other materials to choose from. You’re also welcome to bring along your own special materials - such as handmade papers, stickers or pages from old books - to add a personal touch to your notebooks. No previous bookbinding or bookmaking experience is needed. You’ll learn the basics while picking up skills you can use to create personalised books for yourself, friends and family for years to come. Suitable for creative people aged 12 and over. All materials provided. No experience necessary.
