Lilliput Library #270

At 31C Woodland Avenue, Mosgiel, Lilliput Library #270 has already travelled a little journey of its own. The library was first established at Kay and her husband’s previous home, tucked away in a cul-de-sac where they wondered whether it would attract many visitors. But with a busy retirement village at the end of the street, it soon became a local hotspot, with residents, staff and visitors making regular trips to swap books and keep the shelves filled with fresh reads. After moving house, the magic has continued. Now positioned on a popular walking route, the little library has quickly attracted passersby, with people stopping to admire the idea even as it was being installed. Whether someone is browsing, taking a book or leaving one behind, Kay says every interaction brings her joy - another lovely example of how a little library can become part of the life of a neighbourhood.
