Evermore Books

Evermore Books is a welcoming independent Christian bookshop in Mt Roskill, Auckland, with more than 30 years of history and a genuine love of connecting people with books. Its story began in 1992 with Ross, a lifelong book lover who wanted to do something practical to support Christians in their faith. Together with his wife Olena, he began selling second-hand Christian books from their Mt Roskill home. It didn’t take long for word to spread — or for the books and customers to start taking over the house! Later that year, the growing collection found a new home in a shop on Ellis Avenue, initially trading as Christian Books (Second Hand). The little bookshop continued to flourish and, in 2007, became Evermore Books. Today, Ross has retired, but the spirit of the original shop lives on under the ownership of longtime Christian bookseller Bogdan. As an independent bookshop, Evermore Books offers a wide-ranging collection of new and second-hand Christian books, with plenty to browse and discover. There’s also a wonderful story behind the books that don’t stay in Auckland. Sending excess books overseas was always especially close to Ross’s heart, and over the years thousands have found new homes around the world. Through Books for Missions, Bogdan continues this tradition, working with groups and recipients to make sure useful books reach communities where they can be enjoyed and appreciated.
