Lilliput Library #395

At 55 Shaw Street, Mosgiel, Lilliput Library #395 was created by Stuart McEachen and his wife Anne in memory of their daughter, Halie, who passed away after living with multiple sclerosis. Although Halie became partially blind and could no longer read, she loved books and encouraged others to read. For several years, she regularly visited second-hand bookshops with her carer to collect books and replenish Lilliput Libraries around Mosgiel. Stuart built the library and Anne painted and decorated it, creating a beautiful and lasting tribute to Halie and her love of books. It is a touching addition to the Lilliput whānau and a wonderful way to celebrate her life and generosity.
